Honouring Canada’s Fallen Soldiers with Flags of Remembrance Memorial

About Flags of Remembrance

On June 9, 2017, a memorial of 128 flags, 1 for every 1,000 Canadian soldiers lost, will be installed along Highway 11 between Highway #317 and #313 in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. This is a visual tribute to all who pass by, to those who never came home.

For over a century, Canadian soldiers have been protecting our nation, peace-keeping across the world, and fighting to free others from tyranny. They answered the call, and 128,000 fallen or missing service personnel dating back to the South African War to present time, never returned home.

The RM100 Committee is honoured to work alongside Veteran’s Voices of Canada and 249 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron of Beausejour, Manitoba to recognize the sacrifices made on our Country’s behalf; for none has been greater than those of our military.

Why You Should Participate in the Flags of Remembrance Memorial

Developing the next generation of responsible leaders for this country is important to all Canadians. In order to teach them to make good decisions in the future, they must first understand the past. This includes remembrance of sacrifice made on our Country’s behalf. This is your opportunity to play a part in the development of Canad’s future and honour those who protect our lives and freedoms.
