Whether you’re looking for a new picnic location or need to get out and stretch your legs, one of our quiet Lac du Bonnet parks will provide the perfect afternoon outing. With play structures, a basketball court, swings, slides, walking paths, and picnic tables, you’re bound to find the perfect place to relax.
More commonly known to the local kids as Elephant Park because of the large play structure, Memorial Park has a large open field for playing and swings to play on.
Located on Park Avenue, Memorial Park is home to the Lac du Bonnet War Memorial, serving as a remembrance to our fallen soldiers. The Lac du Bonnet Legion Branch #164 hosts a yearly Decoration Day in June, carrying on a tradition that started in 1890. A parade marches to the Lac du Bonnet Cenotaph, where a Service of Remembrance and wreath-laying takes place. The parade usually includes colour parties from other MB branches as well as a full pipe band.
Leslie Park is located at the South end of Park Avenue in Lac du Bonnet and provides a wide variety of play structures for children of all ages, including swings! The park also features an outdoor basketball court, a flower garden, and a walking trail. Not only is Leslie Park an ideal location for family fun, but it also offers a scenic background for family photos!
Most notably is the recent addition of the accessible playground structure. This project was spearheaded by the local Lac du Bonnet Lions Club, which raised funds and erected the structure with a team of community volunteers.
Just over the bridge and down the walking path from Leslie Park, you will find yourself in Lakeside Park, which offers a gorgeous bankside view of the Winnipeg River. Walk along the trail or enjoy some quiet reflection while sitting on one of the park benches.
Halliday Park, located on Highway #502, is rich with the history of Lac du Bonnet. Named after the area’s first registered homesteader, William Duncan Halliday, the park is home to the Lac du Bonnet and District Museum. This stunning property is the perfect place for a family picnic and beautiful family or wedding photos.
Bridgeside Park isn’t too big, but it is a great place to cast your line for some fishing or stop in for a picnic. Located on Highway #313, just East of the bridge, Bridgeside Park also has a boat launch
